Statement of Faith

Adopted as part of the original Articles of Incorporation in 1929.

The following Statement of Faith forms part of the original Articles of Incorporation of the Harvester Mission.

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, was given entirely by God and is His authoritative Word to men and the only absolute and infallible guide to faith and practice.

The Trinity

We believe that God is one God and three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The Incarnation

We believe in the Virgin Birth: that God the Son came in the flesh, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.

We believe that though tempted in all points, He lived an absolutely sinless life.

The Atonement

We believe that He died on Calvary to make atonement for sin; that He bore our sins in His own body on Calvary and there suffered death as our substitute, giving His life in vicarious sacrifice; that there is no other way to be saved except by believing in His Name.

The Resurrection and Ascension

We believe that Jesus Christ arose from the dead in a real flesh and bone body.

We believe that Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven with this same body and will throughout eternity be in this glorified body.

The Second Coming

We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again in this real, visible body to raise those dead in Christ, to change those living who are His, and to gather them unto Himself.

We believe that He will return to the earth to establish His kingdom and rule for a thousand years.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit to empower the Church, bestow gifts for ministry, teach and guide believers into truth, and administer the work of Christ on earth.

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts men of sin and works through the Word of God proclaimed by His servants.

The Church

We believe that the Church is the invisible body of Christ consisting of all who have received Jesus Christ as personal Savior and have been born again by the Holy Spirit.

The Mission of the Church

We believe the commission of the Church is to gather people for His Name through the preaching of the Gospel and to build believers in the faith.
